INSPIRATION | Designed by renowned architect Joan Soranno and the GDM/HGA team, the University of Alaska Museum of the North was thoughtfully designed to complement the serene Alaska Range, its peak Denali (formerly known as Mt. McKinley), and the surrounding Tanana River Valley. An exterior of free-form shapes and lines synergize to evoke the Fairbanks, Alaska skyline – complete with alpine ridges and magnificent glaciers. Expansive windows in the building create light-filled interiors, welcoming visitors to enjoy the spectacular vistas from within.
