Hydro Systems Makes a Splash at BDNY 2024 With Immersive Wellness Booth
Wellness is more than just a buzzword. It’s a lifelong journey that’s personal to the individual. This idea continues to inspire Hydro Systems and our mission of elevating the bath experience with our 100% Made-in-USA, state-of-the-art hydrotherapy innovations.
Boutique Design New York (BDNY) is the leading trade fair and conference for boutique hotel design. Taking place annually in New York City in November, the curated event brings together designers, architects, purchasing agents, hoteliers, owners, developers and interior design manufacturers to explore the latest design trends shaping the future of hospitality.
At BDNY 2024, Hydro Systems transformed Booth #1879 into an immersive wellness experience. We wanted visitors to not only see, but to feel the therapeutic effects of water, light, and nature-inspired movement.
In a first, Hydro Systems collaborated with award-winning New Zealand lighting designer David Trubridge of wakaNINE to illuminate the booth. Biophilic wonders, like the Fire and Ice cascading pendant by Stephen Pikus and the Hush acoustical light by PLN in collaboration with Trubridge, artfully bring nature indoors through stylized natural shapes (aka “biomimicry”), materials, and shadows that infuse a space with movement and overall sensory calmness.

Hydro Systems’ commitment to personalization and high-quality craftsmanship was evident throughout the exhibition. Designers and hospitality trade pros who stopped by the Wellness Oasis were especially excited by the depth of the company’s custom capabilities, highlighted by the Coachella and Lido tubs, both on display in custom colors and finishes. (Coachella wowed in Behr’s Color of the Year 2025, a rich ruby hue they call “Rumors”; the award-winning Lido and its modernist oval shape impressed too, in Benjamin Moore Navajo White in a matte/gloss finish.) What especially caught their attention was that Hydro Systems can quite literally take their vision and turn it into a reality — from unique sizes and configurations to custom colors, different finishes and even hydrotherapies. Visitors were also excited to learn about the company’s rapid lead times for its popular Metro Collection tubs — now reduced to under three weeks. This enhancement is made possible by Hydro Systems’ two bicoastal state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities.

The standout feature at BDNY was the working Cold Plunge tub, which generated significant buzz,
particularlyafter a visit from Barry Bordelon and Jordan Slocum of HGTV’s “Brownstone Boys.” Several design students decided to “chill out” — and by “chill,” we mean they bravely tested out the invigorating effects of cold water therapy by taking a dip in our working Cold Plunge tub! Other attendees simply opted to soak their hands in a sink equipped with Hydro Indulge and feel the restorative benefits of oxygen-rich micro-bubbles.
The Wellness Oasis gave Hydro Systems a chance to showcase how modern bath spaces can be transformed into life-affirming sanctuaries that heal, energize, and restore the body and mind. It was the Hydro Systems ethos, made manifest.
