Hydro Systems Takes Home Best of BDNY Award And Delivers an Immersive Wellness Experience

Hydro Systems returned to Boutique Design New York (BDNY) this year with its most immersive booth experience to date. Over two memorable days, the Hydro Systems team welcomed hundreds of designers, architects, and industry partners who came to see, touch, and feel the future of personalized wellness up close.

Standout Moment: Picasso Whirlpool Tub Takes Home Best of BDNY

One of the biggest highlights of the show was the debut of the Picasso Freestanding Whirlpool, which was displayed with an optional Cold Plunge configuration. Designed to solve one of the most persistent challenges in freestanding tub design—i.e. where to hide hydrotherapy technology without compromising the sleek freestanding form—Picasso’s seamless integration of a full whirlpool system within its sculptural skirt impressed both attendees and BDNY judges alike. Proof of its impact: it took home a Best of BDNY award in the Health & Wellness category.

A Booth Designed to Engage All the Senses…

This year’s Hydro Systems booth offered visitors an interactive journey through water, light, and materiality. Whether guests were gathering inspiration for their next wellness bath project or engaging with live product demonstrations, the booth became a full-sensory showcase ofwhat’s possible in modern bath design.

…and Inspire With a Sculptural Color Installation

A dramatic color-driven installation also showcased the full breadth of Hydro Systems’ customization capabilities and just how far designers can take their color visions. Featuring the Alamo Freestanding Bathtub, Vessel Sink, and Shower Pan collection in a rainbow of hues, the sculptural display offered abundant inspiration for both hospitality and residential projects. Nearby, the Coachella Freestanding Bathtub in a striking custom tone demonstrated yet another way color can completely transform a space and create signature design moments.

As the only manufacturer in the industry capable of true color matching, Hydro Systems’ commitment to customization resonated strongly with specifiers throughout the show.

…Plus Lighting and Hardware Collaborations

To complete the sensory environment at the booth, Hydro Systems partnered with two design-forward collaborators:

  • Uplight Group brought in sculptural lighting that cast shifting tones and textural shadows across the booth, underscoring how illumination shapes mood and movement within a wellness space.
  • Buster + Punch added their hand-cast metal accents, demonstrating how authentic, tactile hardware can elevate even the smallest details of bath design.

These pairings offered a cohesive, fully curated vision for modern wellness and how Hydro Systems’ products effortlessly integrate into that experience.

Connecting on Crafting

Beyond the product showcases and design installations, BDNY 2025 was, above all, an opportunity for connection. The Hydro Systems team met with longtime collaborators, introduced new designers to the brand, and exchanged ideas with industry leaders shaping the next era of hospitality and residential wellness.

As attendees explored the booth, one theme became clear: today’s designers want to create deeply personal spaces where material beauty, thoughtful technology, and sensory experience come together. Hydro Systems remains at the forefront of that movement, offering solutions that are at once beautifully crafted, technologically advanced, and highly adaptable for a range of projects.

Looking Ahead

BDNY 2025 marked a milestone moment for Hydro Systems. The energy and feedback from the show reaffirmed the brand’s commitment to pushing boundaries and inspiring new ways to design for well-being.

Hydro Systems looks forward to bringing even more innovation, customization, and elevated design to the industry in the year ahead. Stay tuned for more new products and groundbreaking technology.
